Privacy notice

Accuvanta (Pty) Ltd · Version 1.0, October 2026 · Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA)

In short: your business's books stay on your own computer. We do not receive or store your accounting data. We handle a small amount of personal information to licence the software, support you and run the optional online services you choose to use.

Who we are

Accuvanta (Pty) Ltd ("Accuvanta", "we") develops the Accuvanta software and runs this website. For anything in this notice, contact our Information Officer at support@accuvanta.co.za.

What we collect, and why

Your customers' and employees' information

The information you record in Accuvanta about your own customers, suppliers and employees stays on your computers. You are the responsible party for it under POPIA. Accuvanta helps: roles and permissions, an audit trail, marketing opt-outs on every campaign email, and payroll details visible only to people you allow.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We use carefully chosen service providers (operators) who process it only on our instructions: our hosting and network provider (Cloudflare), our email provider, and, for the optional AI and voice services, Anthropic and Microsoft Azure. Some of these providers process information outside South Africa; we use providers bound by agreements that give protection substantially similar to POPIA. Your Accuvanta partner (reseller) receives the information needed to sell and support your licence.

How long we keep it

For as long as you are a customer or as long as needed for the purpose, then as long as the law requires (for example tax records), after which it is deleted or de-identified.

Your rights

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, or object to its use, including for direct marketing. Email support@accuvanta.co.za. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): www.inforegulator.org.za.

Security

We protect personal information with reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, restricted access and signed licence codes. Tell us at once if you suspect a problem.

Changes

We will update this notice when our practices change, and show the new version date here.
